Guide to client appropriate events in London

These events are perfect for taking clients along to and will help you enjoy your time in London.

One of the joys of being in London is all the fantastic events that are held in the capital throughout the year. But if you’re travelling to the Big Smoke for work, you may feel like you don’t have the opportunity to take advantage of this jam-packed calendar.

That does not have to be the case, as there are plenty of events that are suitable for taking clients along to. In fact, they could be a great way to get prospective businesses on side or to show that working with you has its benefits.

If you have a stay booked at a London serviced apartment, then check out some of the things you could enjoy and take clients along to.

The Proms

The original purpose of The Proms, when it first began in the 19th century, was to make classical music accessible to all and it continues with that mission to this day. This is achieved through keeping prices low and holding performances of well-loved pieces and more contemporary themes, such as film scores. Venues, including the Royal Albert Hall and Cadogan Hall, mean the event is held within wonderful settings and feels really special. Find out about your client’s specific musical interests and splash out on a box to really impress them.

This year’s schedule for The Proms will take place from July 15th to September 10th

London Restaurant Festival

If any of your clients are known foodies, then this is the event to take them to. There are special menus at eateries across the capital, as well as activities, such as meet the chef and events and restaurant-hopping tours. Each with a theme, such as tapas or Japanese food, these tours are great fun and allow participants to indulge in tasting plates in several restaurants. To really pull out all the stops, find out if there’s any particular chef your client admires, as the likes of Marcus Wareing and Michel Roux Junior have been involved in previous years. Meeting an idol could just seal the deal.

Events for London Restaurant Festival are held between October 1st and 31st

London Cocktail Week

Part of a collection of events – London Wine Week and London Beer Week included – London Cocktail Week is a great way to build connections with clients in a more laidback environment than the boardroom. Purchasing a wristband opens up all the happenings associated with London Cocktail Week. These include discounts and specially created drinks at venues across the capital. Enjoy an old school martini at the Luggage Room or a Vermouth? You Can’t Handle Vermouth! at City Social with views from the 24th floor – your clients can’t fail to be impressed.

London Cocktail Week will take place from October 3rd to 9th

Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race

Foster some friendly rivalry between you and your client by opting to back different sides at the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race. There are some great places to watch the action unfold along the route, including Putney Embankment and Bishops Park, or alternatively, Dukes Meadow and Chiswick Bridge for the finish. You could get a top class picnic basket from the likes of Fortnum and Mason to enjoy in the sunshine if the weather is good or head to one of the bars and restaurants that line the route.

The 163rd Boat Race will be held at the end of March or beginning of April 2017.

The quintessential British summer experience, Wimbledon has been held at the All England Club since 1877. It is a fantastic place to take clients, as it is something they will never forget and quite possibly wouldn’t do otherwise, as tickets can be hard to come by. There are some fantastic hospitality packages available, however, to wine and dine clients in a suitably impressive style.

Wimbledon 2017 will run from July 3rd to 16th.
